Americans to set new record for vacation spending in 2024

In 2024, the average American household is expected to spend $2,843 on summer vacations - a whopping 118% jump from 2019

Americans have more than doubled their projected summer vacation spending since the start of the pandemic, according to Allianz Partners USA's annual Vacation Confidence Index. The 2024 figure represents an increase of about 3.5 percent over last year, but a whopping 118 percent jump over 2019.

Up slightly from last year, the number continues its steady climb from the pandemic-related dip in 2020 and shows a healthy 40% increase from 2019, fueled by more Americans planning to travel in 2024 (61%) than in 2019 (42%).
