European hotels can now opt out of Google Hotel Search

If you choose to opt out, Google will not display your prices, booking links, or review content on Google’s hotel search to users in the EEA

Mar 28, 2024

Google sent an email to European based hotels that with the new European rules, they can now remove pricing information and other information - including booking link - from showing in the Google Search results. Not quiet sure, why a hotel would like to do that.

Key takeaways

  • You can now choose not to display your prices and availability on Google's hotel and vacation rental search service (google.com/travel/hotels) to users in the European Economic Area (EEA);
  • Your data will still be eligible to appear on Search and Maps;
  • Google will assume that you would like to remain opted-in if no action is taken by April 19th.
