Otto The Agent introduces AI-powered business travel assistance

A new model for executive-level travel service deployed at scale through AI

Dec 5, 2025

Otto The Agent, an AI-powered business travel assistant, has officially launched after nine months in closed beta. The platform is designed to streamline booking, itinerary management and real-time travel problem solving without redirecting users or requiring repeated data entry.

Otto offers concierge-style support, anticipating needs, adjusting plans and managing loyalty details within a conversational interface.

The product is backed by Madrona Venture and senior travel leaders from Orbitz, Expedia and Concur, with early pilots underway through Direct Travel.

Key takeaways

  • Conversational travel bookings: Otto enables full flight and hotel transactions directly in the user interface without redirects or repeated payment and profile inputs.
  • Executive-level support at scale: The assistant brings concierge-style travel problem solving, historically reserved for senior leaders, to everyday business travelers.
  • Predictive and proactive planning: Otto can connect with calendars, learn traveler preferences and automatically adjust itineraries as plans evolve.
  • Real-time disruption management: When issues arise, such as grounded flights, Otto identifies new options and updates itineraries to minimize traveler stress.
  • Integrated platform ecosystem: Otto connects with Spotnana, Booking.com, Microsoft 365 and Google calendars, supporting web, mobile and email access.
  • Human service fallback: If needed, users can request live support via phone, serviced through Direct Travel.
