Booking.com extends contract with eTraveli

Booking.com has extended its contract with eTraveli and will continue to build its fledgling flight business, key to its "Connected Trip" strategy

Sep 28, 2023

At the Skift Global Forum 2023, Glenn Fogel, Booking Holdings CEO said the company is going to build its flight business. The unfortunate transaction will however not allow it to improve its flight product as quickly and easily, and "consumers would end up paying."

  • Fogel said he believed the eTraveli deal had broader implications, claiming “regulators are trying to make a statement and coming up with new laws and new regulations without actually having to have new laws;”
  • “We want to try and promote new products and new services that benefit society. Big is not necessarily bad. If you misuse your powers, it is bad,” he said.
