Kayak co-founder to launch new hotel review/booking app
Deets is aimed at fixing what Paul English calls the “broken” system that currently exists for online reviews
The app provides recommendations based on reviews from a user’s friends, people they follow and from other users with similar interests. When users install the Deets app, they are prompted to invite friends to download it.
Deets launched in late January in Boston and New York, starting only with restaurant reviews and recommendations.
Lodging bookings - in partnership with a 'top lodging partner' to be announced soon - will be added in those markets this summer with plans to expand to 15 cities across the United States by the end of this year and then international expansion in 2024.
